Tips for extending the life of your carpet

1. Vacuum heavy traffic areas 2–3 times a week, and the rest of your carpet once a week.
2. Make sure to vacuum under area rugs as dirt under rugs causes wear and tear.
3. Keep a bottle of one of our spot & stain removers available for emergency accidents.
4. Always soak up spills with a towel blotting not rubbing to prevent spots/spills from causing permanent damage.

Our carpet cleaning method

For the most efficient and best clean, all major carpet manufactures recommend hot water extraction. This is commonly referred as “steam cleaning”. In most cases, we use a truck mounted machine that stays outside your home or office, with only a hose and wand brought inside. When a truck mounted machine cannot reach the unit, such as the case of high rises, we use a portable steam cleaning machine. The Olympic Cleaning process is as follows:

1. Before we arrive we recommend that you vacuum your carpet to remove any loose dirt from the pile of the carpet. Loose dirt is best removed while dry and before the cleaning solution is applied for the best possible results. This step is included in our Gold Medal service or is offered at an additional charge if requested.
2. We Pre-spray any stains/spots.
3. We then use the wand to apply additional cleaning solutions onto the pile. We use the best cleaning solutions for the type of carpet to ensure the best possible cleaning. We are happy to use our range of Green products upon request.
4. As we apply the cleaning solution with the wand the extractor removes the used solution. The power of our truck mounted machine ensures that your carpet will dry faster than any other cleaning processes.
5. Olympic Carpet has been cleaning carpets for over 30 years and you need not worry about shrinkage, over wetting, mildew, rapid re-soiling.
